Some physical subjects are explained here. Drop size is an important factor in measuring or modelling spray drift. The first part of this section therefore discusses various characteristic drop size parameters of a spray.
The second topic (phase-Doppler) deals with an optical technique to measure drop size and speed, without disturbing the spray.
The sub-section on wind profile is important for drift models; it discusses some meteorological properties of wind and its interaction with a crop.
Finally, in 'drop kinetics' some general aspects are discussed concerning how drops fall or float through air. Clearly drop size is a very important parameter in this topic.
